Low Sodium Turkey Chili!

We've been told we have the BEST chili's on the web!

Only about 1g of fat per serving!

This fantastic chili is at about 100mg of sodium, 174 calories and only 1 gram of fatin a 10 ounce size cup or bowl. It is so flavorful, my entire family enjoys it and so will yours!

This recipe will serve about 8. If you want to make a smaller serving, cut the recipe in half.


What You Need

4 - 8 ounce cans No Salt added Tomato Sauce
1 to 1 1/3 lbs- Extra Lean Ground White turkey
1 - Large Portabello Mushroom (Sliced or chopped)
1 - 12 ounce can DelMonte diced tomatoes (50mg per serving)
1/4 - Large Red Onion
1/4 - green Bell Pepper
1/2bag - Birds Eye Pepper mix
1tsp - garlic pre-minced or chopped
1can- Red Kidney beans RINSED AND DRAINED TO REMOVE SODIUM

1/4 tsp. each paprika, salt substitute, tabasco sauce 9eliminate if you don't like a kick)
1 packet - Williams Original Chili Seasoning

1-2tsp liquid smoke

1TBS Chili Powder
2-tsp. brown sugar

RECIPE

1) Brown the turkey meat with the liquid smoke, peppers, onions, mushooms, can of diced tomtatos, and garlic till they start to soften, do not overcook but cook untill the turkey has turned white and is cooked. There should be no need to drain any grease since it is extra lean turkey meat.

3) After the turkey is cooked, pour the packet of  Williams Tex-Mex style seasoning mix across the top of the meat and vegetables and mix well together. Also add your other seasonings (chili powder, hot sauce, brown sugar and salt substitiute)

4) Add your rinsed kidney beans and Birds Eye Pepper Mix to the mixture and begin adding your sauce. Bring to a boil the reduce heat to a simmer.

5) Simmer your chili over a low to medium heat for at least another 30 minutes and enjoy!
